Biography - Shane M. Boasberg
Shane M. Boasberg was born and raised in the vibrant city of New Orleans, Louisiana, and eventually moved to the Lone Star State to pursue his education at The University of Texas at Austin in 1996. He arrived at this esteemed institution after obtaining his undergraduate degrees in Government and Business from the University of Texas - Austin. Following his time at UT, Mr. Boasberg continued his academic journey at the South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas. While attending South Texas College of Law, Shane took on the critical role of law clerk for the highly regarded Gallagher, Lewis, Downey, and Kim law firm. This invaluable experience allowed him to develop his legal and appellate research skills, as well as writing and trial preparation. Notably, during this period, he contributed to one of the largest settlements ever recorded in the history of United States jurisprudence.
Shane graduated from South Texas College of Law in 2002 and commenced his legal career at Heard, Robins, Cloud, Lubel, and Greenwood LLP in Houston. In 2004, he returned to Austin, Texas, to serve as General Counsel to the Honorable Senator Mario Gallegos in the Texas Senate. Subsequently, Shane joined the Office of the Texas Attorney General under Greg Abbott, addressing a diverse range of legal and political matters concerning transportation and eminent domain. During his tenure at the Office of the Attorney General, Mr. Boasberg also acted as the Legislative Liaison between the Transportation Division of the Attorney General’s office and the Texas Legislature.
After his time with the legislature and the Office of the Attorney General for Texas, Mr. Boasberg returned to private practice in 2010. He established his law firm in Austin, TX, and maintains a satellite office in Georgetown, TX. Throughout his career, Mr. Boasberg has worked on various civil cases, but he currently concentrates on family law and personal injury law.
He is deeply committed to serving the community and is a member of the Texas State Bar, the Austin Bar Association, and the Capitol Area Trial Lawyers Association. Mr. Boasberg was honored to be named to Texas Monthly's “Rising Stars” list for the years 2012, 2014 to 2016, a recognition given to only 2.5% of eligible Texas attorneys based on peer nominations.
